Oh, you filthy marvelous bastards, Lego.

Here I was, with two tubs full of mostly loose Lego bricks and a closet shelf full of unopened boxes of the Deathly Hallows Lego sets, thinking I only had that four old sets left to track down to complete my Harry Potter collection and you, Lego company, had to send me the new catalog.

What do I see inside? Not one, not two, but three new HP sets that become available in June.

THREE.

I believe I've just figured out what Captain will be getting me for our wedding anniversary.

Still feel like poo. Mystery ailment is still a mystery. Have not heard from consultant doc yet. Would say that the constant four (on a scale of one to ten) has bumped up to a five or six and I still have nothing stronger than my trusty bottle of ibuprofen to take, but that's another gripe all together.

Since I can't write at the moment, Captain suggested I work on the lego castle he got me for my birthday. I love the legos, and would have had many, many hours of joy out of it if it wasn't for the tiny, tiny issue that over 80 pieces are missing.

OVER 80. True, that's out of almost 950 pieces total, but it is still a rather large chunk.

Yes, I am bitter, and pissy, and yes, I did break into tears out of frustration at one point before I gave up trying to steal bits from old lego sets and just sat down to figure out exactly what was missing so that I could get replacement bits from lego.com (and they better send me replacement bits or there will be hell to pay).

AND my getting out of the house to talk to someone who is not my husband play date got canceled for today.

Anywho, have set up laptop in the living room, am going to load up some scary movies and try to write while I wait for the trick or treaters to start popping up.

I've got to admit a guilty secret.

I - I - I've been eating veggies.

Green ones.

I know, I know. I swore I'd never do it but those veggies in the stir fry - oh my goodness, they are so crispy and tasty in the cream sauce and I can't help it. I hang my head in shame.

Still won't eat the onions.

The Lego Hogwarts project is done. For now. Technically I'm still working on mix N matching heads/hair and bodies on my extra figs to add them in. But other than that, everything is built and up until I have a chance to take pictures.

In other words I'm awake and bored.

We went to Kobe for dinner (again) tonight. The lovely Stephenie was our waitress once more - are you getting a clue that perhaps we eat there a bit often since I'm learning the names of the staff? We were seated at the same table as a party of four and an older gentleman on his own and Stephenie went around the table asking for drink orders, got to [livejournal.com profile] cptn_oblivious and I and told us what we were having with a grin. She also knew our dinner and sushi order. Did I mention we're very predictable? Thomas, our chef, came to the table and knew how I wanted my steak cooked and gave me an extra portion of fried rice and extra cream sauce since he knew I always take half my dinner home for later.

We likes them, on yes we do, preciousss.

That reminds me of a story, last month at some point we were eating there and the couple next to us (which we did not know) and I were talking about chefs when my togo box came out and I was loading up my dinner, carefully picking out the steamed zucchini to leave because... eww. The lady had just given me a piece of eel to try from her appetizer because her guy was having none of that and it was pretty good, a little gooey but good. The guy goes "You'll eat raw eel but you won't eat zucchini?"

Anywho, get home and notice the transformer on the light pole on the corner is sparking big blue shinies and making a lovely hissy noise. Call the emergency line for the power company and then Captain and I bundle up in our coats and stood out in the driveway gawking like Kansans in a tornado warning. It turns out only the guy across the street's power was effected and it had been going wonky since noon. We called the power company at 8:15, they didn't show up until nearly nine. If his power had been flickering constantly since noon either he was very unconcerned or the power people were really slow.

What else? Oh, just started a new story arc for Daphne on [livejournal.com profile] __lightning__. Really looking forward to that. Had a bit of fun with a certain thread from last week. *Kisses to Draco* Snerk.

Let me leave you with this thought: Lego Deatheaters are so damn cute.

I admit it. I geeked out totally.

I own The World's Largest Dungeon.

You may ask yourself why? That's a very good question and the answer is - I haven't a clue. I don't DM. My semi-regular four hour block of gaming on Sundays consists of [livejournal.com profile] cptn_oblivious sitting behind his DM screen plotting and another army couple and I. The man is very gung ho about his ranger/druid. His wife has a warlock that he "helped" with and she and I are more of the "let's enjoy ourselves" kind of gamers. In other words we giggle and plot and try to have fun with our characters and make an effort to break up the monotony of hack N' slash/wander for an hour and a half checking doors for traps and moving on.

No offense to my Hubby, but with Nature Boy pushing us forward it can become a little... yeah, you know. Three people do not a party into the WLD make, trust me on this.

I personally haven't been behind a Game Master screen since my Star Wars D20 game broke up (I loved that game, didn't have a clue about physics and made up my own SW crap most of the time, but I loved that game). So I have no idea why I bought an 800+ page WLD module.

In other news - Lego!Hogwarts is taking shape nicely. Second table has been set up and I've begun interconnecting random sets to maximize space. I'm considering putting Lego!Lockhart and Lego! Trewlaney in a compromising position.

I sort of forgot I have a personal LJ for awhile.

Let's see, what have I done since my last real update?

Put together some Legos. That was fun. Eventually I'm going to have to buy a second folding table to put the rest of them on as I'm only on set six(?) and the first table is full and there are many, many more where that came from. I've even begun rearranging and playing with the extra people as I find them. Spare Peeves? Slap some of Dumbledore's hair on it and call her Myrtle. See where I'm going with this?

And yes, eventually I shall go out and find a camera for picspam.

In which Miah rambles. A lot. )

I'm pretty sure it's actually impossible not to start a game of Civilization, tell yourself you'll only play for a bit and then realize you've been up all night sacking cities and building wonders like a crazed meglomaniac.

That's pretty much it unless you want to be bored to death with tales of the very small Sunday D&D game. ("Let's eat the goblin. I bet it tastes like chicken.")

Didn't think so.

Going to KS tomorrow. [livejournal.com profile] grandpoobah's birthday party is this weekend. I need to get pictures so [livejournal.com profile] cptn_oblivious can see how she's grown.

Probably should take pictures of the puppy for the same reason.

Also, it appears that I have a lot of G-Mail invites if someone is interested. A Lot.

Nearly six o'clock in the evening. Probably should eat something. In today's long snoozefest that was running errands I seem to have managed to forget to eat. Again. Oops. Not that hungry, but since I never remember to stop and eat during the drive to KS I should make an effort tonight.

Found three Lego sets at the PX that I don't have. Unfortunately, unlike every other business on the planet, the PX has not discounted any of them and I just couldn't talk myself into spending quite that much money on myself. (Gimme a week or two and then I'll try again).

Really, it all started with this weird urge to get Lego!Snape's classroom and then get any old set with Lego!Hermione so that I could build a creepy little Lego shrine/scene to SS/HG. Mainly it was going to be something I would use to annoy the DH and to squick out a few non SS/HG friends. I have an odd sense of humor. I admit this.

Lego!Hermione proved to be elusive, however. The only set I could find in the store at the time was the Forbidden Corridor which did come with Hermione, but also had Harry and Ron. Then I discovered that Lego!Harry's head fit inside Fluffy's mouths and Lego!Ron looked so adorable caught up in the Devil's Snare. I had to go back and get Aragog In the Dark Forest so that I could torment the two of them with the giant spider.

What? Doesn't everyone do that?

DH even bought me Lupin's Classroom for our anniversary last year so that I could have Lego!Snape in a dress.

Anyway, out of 34 official sets that I can find record of, I have 20. That's not counting this year's release for Goblet of Fire. I think at least half of the last fourteen are small sets, most from POA. But several of them are rather large sets (or hard to find) and therefore horribly expensive.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dazite for having her Hubby take a look at the car. Spark plug has been replaced. Yea!

I had a great time this past weekend )

DH is ill. He did give me my anniversary gift before he passed out on the bed after work. I'm afraid the curse of the Wedding Anniversaries has struck again. Six months - DH was horribly sick. One Year - Moving day. And now, poor man is barely coherent.

And I am now the proud owner of the Lego Lupin's Classroom. Yea! Lego!Snape in drag.

Sounds like DH and I are making the trip into K.C. Thursday night with Jane't and her Hubby to try and catch a midnight show of POA. And then I'm going to try and catch it again on Friday. And maybe again on Saturday as several people have expressed an interest in seeing the movie with me, yet not at the same time as every one else. Probably only going to do two of the three as $21 (or $42 if DH goes every time) is a bit excessive for a movie I don't even get to take home.

Jane't and I have matching Hogwarts shirts. I'm sure her Hubby is going to be embarrassed to be seen with us. Maybe I should wear my Slytherin scarf as well?
