I feel bad and beautiful

Item one: Have made progress on the knitting. Sort of. The purling is... vexing, but doable.

Item two: When one is out shopping at the local Volde-Mart with a friend and said friend has written the grocery list in her own amusing code, one should make an effort to actually read what is written. In other words fruitage and frottage are not the same thing, not pronounced the same*, and most likely the frottage will not be found near the front of the store next to the deli. Actually, knowing that Volde-Mart, it might be but I still wouldn't want to throw some into my cart.

Item three: Been having loads of fun plotting for an upcoming story arc on __lightning__ and throwing ideas off the other mods. I think this plot has gone through so many little nips and tweaks since it was first suggested and it just keeps getting better. And rewil has been doing fabulous work on researching the mythos behind the antagonists.

Item four: I like lists.

Item five: Went to Texas yesterday. rewil and I decided to cross the state line, maybe get something to eat, do a little shopping. Last time we did that we ended up in Nebraska for Mexican food. Yesterday it was Texas for sushi at Buffet City ($10 for the buffet, Mongolian BBQ, sushi and a drink AND the they had nagiri! I ate more than $10 worth of sushi alone, much less the rest of the food.) and a trip to the Wichita Falls mall where I purchased some new knee high socks and a Jareth postcard.

* - that was totally me, btw. And rewil and I couldn't stop giggling for the rest of the shopping trip.

Last night I had a craving for some kind of beef/cheese thing that I couldn't define. So I ordered a large beef, pepperoni and extra cheese from Pizza Hut. They were sort of puzzled when I told them I didn't really care what the crust was and to go with whatever was easiest (I think we settled on hand tossed) but I didn't really care. As soon as the pizza got to my house I pulled the topping off and threw the entire crust into the fridge to possibly be consumed later if I suddenly desire bread.

The toppings ended up in two bowls, were nuked once to reheat and then were eaten with a fork. It was tasty. Yet expensive.

In other news, I'm picking fights with friends for no real reason other than I'm being pissy. It's a lovely trait and I'm sure everyone adores me for it. Except no. So, if you're reading this, and I did, I'm so sorry I'm being an asshat. Seriously.

Last night I put the first Children of the Darned on line at darnedchild (well, it's been on-line for years, but this is the first time it's ever been anywhere but on the e-version of the college newspaper it was published in oh those many long years ago). It just occurred to me, we're (as in rewil who was my co-culprit in the creation of CotD) probably going to need to do a bit of creative editing because I know we name at least one RL person in the strip at some point during it's 76 comic run. I bet I could photoshop his LJ name in instead if I had to... will need to talk to Rewil and see what she thinks.

I also put up the new Quibbler (only two days late), posted ads for both bw_afterglow and __lightning__ on various RP sites, did a long rambling just_myrtle journal entry (which was really odd because it's been ages since I had to step into full blown depressed Myrtle - as opposed to giddy and horny Myrtle - and I've sort of gotten used to Daphne who is... not a depressed angst machine) and an AG post for her. Made a new icon featured on today's post. Am considering a horror-movie theme for the next few icons as I've already gotten two zombies and a Psycho in the last week. Maybe something in a platonic lesbian rain dancing sequence from Dracula... or not. Paid the bills. Went grocery shopping. Went to the vet and discovered that the demon cat will be getting his antidepressants via ear massage gel stuff this time - I was told I simply must wear rubber gloves other wise I will get wacked out like whoa. Played a little NWN - my old character had gotten deleted during the great Severus-Gilderoy transfer of June so I started over with a nice Drow Rogue who will be taking levels of Shadowdancer soon.

I'm sure there was some other stuff I did last night/this morning, but my brain has started to shut down after being up all night and running errands so... it's all cheese to me.

Seriously, I ate one of those jumbo Fudge Round things around ten pm last night and was on a sugar fueled rush until well after seven am.

I did a lot last night. Most of it was technical behind the scenes stuff getting ready for __lightning__ to launch on Monday, so I won't bore you with the details. I was running three characters in four different threads, working on backdated history posts for Daphne's past on Lightning (still so far behind there), made eleven Katie Bell icons for perkygothess, wrote the summary for quibbling, and put the Quibbler on-line.

And then - sometime between four and six am - I did these. I'll put them behind a cut cause I'm nice that way.

They're meant to work as Pimp banners for Lightning, but when one is very tired the animated one becomes hypnotic. Seriously.

Heard my husband's voice for the first time since June. It was only three minutes, but it was nice to hear him. Of course, he woke me out of my drop-dead-in-exhaustion moment so I wasn't very much with the coherent and there seemed to be a large angry duck on the phone line squawking every few seconds, but it was still nice.

DH called this morning (his evening) to say he was at his new FOB and that he was alright.

And that he loved me.

He remembered.

Had no plans with friends and family for the day. I hate being stuck down in this pit. I was going to drive up to KS for the holiday but with everything that happened last week it just didn't seem like a good idea. And everyone in KS had family to spend the day with.

Instead I stayed home, which was good because a neighbor came by to let me know he reported my fence to the city. The one that has been down since before I moved in. Since he seemed so very, very interested in my yard I asked if he knew anyone who could mow my lawn. He's going to ask his grandson.

Since I was home and had no plans at all, I spent the day doing maintenance things on-line. Added all the past issues of the Quibbler to quibbling's memories, with labels to let us know at a glance who/what has been summarized and who has been interviewed for each issue. That way I won't have to go back through the archives to figure out who to harass politely ask if they'd like to be bothered by Rita Skeeter. Fixed some random HTML tag issues too.

I'd forgotten how funny those past issues were.

Was inspired to work on a large and probably incredibly complicated Photoshop Elements project. I sort of know what I want to do, I just don't know how to do it or even if I do get it done where I would put it. rillathegrape gave me a link to an icon tutorial that has some cool ideas. I maybe able to do something with those. Most of my PSE projects are of the 100x100 pixel less than 40k variety and this new thing... I can see it turning out huge if I'm not careful and heck if I have a clue how large the file will end up.

Also it will take mad PSE skillz that I'm fairly positive I don't currently have.
