There are many places I can't take him to for various reasons... but let's just focus on my Ten Year High School Reunion for today.

It was recently pointed out by a group of very small children at BabyC's one year birthday bash that DH bears a striking resemblance to, ahem, Jesus. ("Mommy, is that Jesus?" asks small child. "Yes, he is." answers rather unhelpful party guest. To which we had to chip in, "That's the worst party clown ever. Okay kids, let's give all the presents to the less fortunate. Time for grape juice and crackers.")

I am agnostic. Have been my entire life. I've mellowed a bit about it in my old age, but in school I was very vocal about the school district's policy of prayer in school, at football and basketball games, at graduation, at awards dinners, etc. I went to a public, state-funded school, mind you. I even met with the superintendent to request that the prayer sessions be turned into moments of silence so that people of every faith or non-faith could to their thing, or even switch up the priest with a pastor or rabbi once in a while so that other faiths would be represented. No dice.

So there I was, every football game, in my band uniform on the field, the only person in a twenty piece band not bowing my head. Or at graduation, the only senior not reciting the Lord's prayer. Little things like that.

My sister informs me that my name lived on in infamy long after I graduated.

So, it would be a tad bit odd for me to show up with Jesus and to explain that DH's goal in life was to be a Lutheran pastor.

I imagine his popularity would skyrocket if he replaced everyone's water with wine when they weren't looking....
