I just realized I haven't posted anything to this LJ since pre-holidays (well, nothing other than "I'm not dead yet").

I've been alternating between OMG BUSY and doing everything in my power to avoid real work - which we all know can be just as tiring.

To sum up - drove up to see my parents on the 23rd. Had dinner with them and the Midget and her hubby. Went to bed obscenely early as being in the car for seven and a half hours wears me out. Did two family Christmas parties and a brief stop at the grandparents on the 24th and got up early to drive home on Christmas Day. Colonel Brandon was not pleased with me about two very long car trips so close together, but he did love staying at mom and dad's because someone was always taking him for a walk all over town.

New Years was spent home, I may have been RPing. Or on the phone with [livejournal.com profile] hrhjahi. Can't remember.

In the last few weeks I have cleaned the house top to bottom, finished the Christmas shopping for the party at the end of this month, unpacked the last of the boxes that were inside the house (after only six months), washed every dish I owned (Which is way too many, why do I have place settings for 8?), and generally trying to keep myself busy so I won't worry about tomorrow.

You see, in just under 23 hours my husband comes home.

On the one hand I'm excited because I haven't seen him since June. On the other hand, other than a brief R&R I've lived alone for the last year and [livejournal.com profile] cptn_oblivious stayed in this house less than three days I believe. It's hard to explain really, but what it amounts to is I've grown comfortable with how I live and tomorrow all that changes again.

Selfish, but human.

Next week will be hectic - have to buy food because he's not going to want to live off of pizza rolls (Don't know why not, they're very tasty), drop the dog off at the kennel so I can wait around the parking lot where we're supposed to fetch the soldiers from for several hours, go to some "highly recommended" class/training/let's make sure your soldier hasn't gone bat-shite while in country things for several days, and do the immediate family Christmas (The dog has been sniffing at his stocking for weeks and is starting to get a little cranky about not getting his treats, dang it). At the end of the month we do the KS tour again and visit family and friends and do yet another Christmas gift exchange. And at some point I have to buy a bleepin' prom dress for a formal ball on the 3rd of March (another "highly recommended" thing).

So if I'm scarce for a bit, RL decided I'd had enough free time for awhile and I needed to catch up for being a lazy bum.
