Normally when I dress up for Ren Fest I end up in the full skirt, the overskirt/chemise and the bodice of asphyxiation which doesn't actually have any boning or anything. Does wonders for the bustline but can make things like sitting or breathing a tad bit difficult for a few hours until I get used to the pressure again.
This year I have another option. The corset. It's a major pain in my arse to wiggle into and I'm positive to actually get the full effect I'm going to need assistance. To be perfectly frank, it hurts like a Mother humper and I'm not positive I can manage to stay strapped in for 12 hours without dying.
But damn it makes my Garb look good.
So... which is more important? Looking good or feeling good? Keeping in mind that if I'm in garb at all I'm not exactly going to be overly comfy, if you know what I mean. Pretty much anything that constricts your waist and chest and shoves your boobs up to just below your neck isn't really lounge wear.
While I was playing dress up I dragged out last years Slytherin School Girl costume. The good news is I've lost some weight so that when I couple that with the corset my white fitted shirt is actually fittedish. Bad news is I've lost some weight so that when I couple that with the corset my skirt sort of tries to slide off. A lot.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a school girl skirt (with no red in it) in my size? It's not easy, I know, I've looked.
Not that I have anywhere to wear said outfit to (or anyone to wear it for, more important, stupid war).
Where was I? Right. Corset. So, do I go for straight comfort and civvies, less comfort and great cleavage and the pudgies, or no pudgies and possible owwwies and sort of looking nice for once?
Of course if half the people I've heard might be coming to RenFest actually show up I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt cause I am not going to spend the entire day chasing down hordes of people I barely know plus small children dressed as a well endowed pirate wench.
