My cute, sweet, adorable, little lap dog puppy... is a damn horse. He's gained over nine pounds in the last month.
Colonel Brandon now weighs over 26.5 pounds and if he's a Lhasa... well, I'm the Queen of Oklahoma.
And my first proclamation will be that all Ebil Red Clay/Dirt shall be removed and fresh new healthy brown dirt from the upper states shall be imported in. Because that doesn't make the little ground digging vermin look quite so cannibalistic. Which still creeps me out and I haven't been back to the Oklahoma City Zoo ground hog exhibit since my honeymoon nearly three years ago.
What was I going on about? Right. Big dog.
Five months old. His paws are still too large for his body. Daddy was something ginormous. And CB can bounce. He gets plenty of air between himself and the ground. Plenty.
What the heck am I raising?

Oh, and the size of the feet is a great indicator of just how big your doggie will be. Have fun.

We had a similar experience with our dogs. They were supposed to be a Rottweiler/Black Lab mix, so we were expecting big dogs. That's what one of them turned out to be, but the other turned out to be a Rottweiler/Bull Mastiff mix. Huge, huge dog. He weighted in 176 lbs at the last vet's appointment. So... look on the bright side. It really could be worse. ;)
