First, let me get the Afterglow pimping over with so that I can move on to the complaining that you all know I love to do.
It has come to the Mods attention that people other than the players do actually read
bw_afterglow. I could have told them that if anyone asked, after all, that's how I ended up joining the RP in the first place. I read the stories. I know that Jason tries to read them when he can and he'll sometimes ask for a quick update if he can't. (Hello, Jason! Get an LJ, you anonymous posting nutter.) And sometimes
beeform reads.
Anywho, the point is that there has been some requests for a place for non-player peeps to post thoughts, questions, etc. Oddly enough, we already had a place like that, we just didn't realize it.
Behold
quibbling! Not a community, and people can't start their own threads, but you are more than welcome to leave comments. The Quibbler updates every Sunday with an RP summary and a character interview. So feel free to friend
quibbling and let us know what you think of the RP. Unless, you know, you think Myrtle and Gildy suck, because then I really don't want to know. I'm very *sniff* sensitive about these things.
Or not. Also, some of the characters do occasional make personal IC posts in their journals that do explain some of the motivations of why they do the crazy things they do.
just_myrtle made one just today, as a matter of fact. These posts don't show up on
bw_afterglow so if you want to read them, you have to go to the source.
In other news - I talked to another Army guy today. Not the one I had been talking to because somehow I managed to oopsy get him in trouble. I'm not giggling right now. I swear. Just FYI, it seems that telling a worried spouse that she's not supposed to bother her hard working soldier boy husband about lil' old problems like the house being repossessed... is a NO NO.
Anyway, the new Sgt. I spoke with (who is the boss of the Sgt. I used to talk to) called to tell me that the realtor swears that no foreclosure paperwork has been filed as of yet. Yet. Not, won't be filed. Yet. And when the foreclosure does happen (and I'm not optimistic that it won't) I'll have months to move. His best advice? Try to get another six month lease since my current one ends this month and we were going to be month to month after that. Which means they need only provide me with thirty days notice and they still get to keep my security deposit. Six months means I'll still be asked to leave probably, but my security deposit should be transfered to the new place and they feel a hell of a lot more guilty about inconveniencing me.
He also pointed out that occasionally have the Army Housing Dept. on my side, ready to threaten to blacklist the realtor office for being wankers, is much more likely to make the realtor be nice to me when the time comes. You know, possibly helping me move, etc. I don't like the Army as a whole, but occasionally they suck less than usual.
And then... the head of my husband's unit's FRG (and do not ask what that stands for because I haven't a clue) called to say she's been out of town for six weeks and "Damn, I don't know how we missed that no one had spoken to you. I came back to find all sorts of shit like this and heads are gonna roll, let me tell you." I like her. She's very blunt. Also, I doubt she's ever met a stranger, you know the kind of person. We talked for 45 minutes. She made me laugh.
