Mainly because while I am now the giddy owner of my very own crossbow - passed down to me from my father this Christmas, heeee, crossbow! - I currently have no bolts for it.
Which is probably a good thing because this puppy has no safety and I'm pretty sure it could take off a finger if I'm not careful with it.
Second only to the supreme awesomeness of the heirloom crossbow was a gift from my sister - GeMagic - an 'As Seen on TV' Bedazzler type thingy. That's right, friends of mine, prepare to be Bedazzled next Christmas because I can almost guarantee that Something will end up bejemmed.
There were lots of other presents - a few were even waiting for me when I got back home tonight - AND I learned how to make friendship bracelets while I was gone. I've always wanted to know how to knot those things, and Midget, Mom and I all sat around the kitchen table and learned.
Perhaps a Bedazzled friendship bracelet? Thoughts?
Where was I?
So... Yes, spent a week with the family, which was fabulous and exactly what I needed because I had been sort of down after Captain left.
Don't get me wrong, I am so happy to be home with the kitties (Brandon will be sprung from the kennel tomorrow, I hope) and in my own bed with my precious, precious internets... but I was really happy to be able to just veg in the living room with the family, watching Discovery channel (I love you, Dirty Jobs and Mythbusters, I really do) and playing Harry Potter Clue.
Oh, I almost forgot. Tuesday night, just as I'm leaving the grocery store, Captain called to let me know that someone would be showing up at the door with a surprise for me at some point, and as I walked in the front door with him still on the phone and started to warn Mom... she pointed to the coffee table.
There was a box from FTD.
He sent me roses.
Just when I think I can't love him more...
I hope everyone had a happy holiday season type thing, and I wish everyone a fabulous New Year!
