Show me the way to go home.

I'm tired and I want to go to bed.

Oh, I had a little drink about an hour ago,

And it's gone right to my head.

Wherever I may roam:

On land, or sea, or foam.

You will always hear me singing this song,

Show me the way to go home.

Random comment: That scene where Robert Shaw is describing the sinking and the aftermath of the USS Indianapolis rates (for me at least) as one of the most chilling scenes in any movie ever. It was his matter-of-fact delivery and that bitter twist of his mouth that elevated it from merely being a horror story within a thriller. Brilliant work. The man should have won an Oscar for that scene alone.

Thank you.

It was the USS Indianapolis story and delivery, rather than the big chompy mechanical shark that truly cemented my horrified respect for the sharks.

Also, that song has been stuck in both DH and I's heads since last night. The duet as we both tried to sleep around eleven is probably what kept me up most of the night.

"Farewell, and adieu, to you fair Spanish ladies..."

I do so love that movie. And that whole sequence with the scar comparisons and the terrifying story Shaw recounts was one of the best ever.

There were other scenes in that movie that really grabbed me too, but not for being scary. I really liked the part with the little boy and his dad, playing the imitation game.
