Upon being informed that I was considering the name Bellatrix for our newest addition to the household, Captain laughed. "I was expecting something from Harry Potter."
I bought Bella - I'm trying the name out, seeing how she likes it - a new purple collar (they didn't have any black ones). With a bell. And shiny rhinestones. Nothing but the best in low budget bling for my little Troublemaker.
And she is. A Troublemaker with a capital "T".
The bedroom is "hers" now, and she gets extremely cranky if one of the other cats manages to get past me into the room. LOTS of hissing from her hiding spot under the bed. The minute I come in to the room and she recognizes me, she comes out of hiding and follows me all around the bedroom and bathroom, not content to run off and play until she's certain that I'm going to settle in for awhile, and she runs back to make sure I'm still there every five or ten minutes. She's a huge cuddle monster.
As a matter of fact, she's curled up beside me right now, the tip of her tongue sticking out, snoring softly.
She did have a difficult day today, she met the dog. He was curious and wanted to sniff her, but she kept backing up to get away and ended up in a corner. At that point there was a vicious whirlwind of pointy bits and Brandon really didn't know what hit him, so he started barking. Which got her worked up even more. He did back off when I got between them and told him to sit, so he wasn't actually upset.
Then she spent an hour in my office, hiding from the ceramic cat. Eventually I was able to convince her that the cat wasn't real and she came out of hiding.
We'll try again tomorrow.
