[livejournal.com profile] orcatiff tagged me.

Her instructions: Not because you have to, but because you WANT to! Things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and play. What lowers your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level? Make a list, post it in your journal and tag 5 people!

1. Reading. I used to be a book whore. I would read anything and everything I could get my hands on, but the last few years I've gotten very picky about what I'll spend money (or time) on. A good book is still a guilty pleasure, I'm just a lot more discriminate about what I consider a good book.

2. Writing. The free time I used to spend buried in a book is now spent writing. I reached the point where I wasn't finding anything in the store or on-line that I wanted to read, and I decided the best way to find a storyline that interested me would be to sit down and right it myself. I've always enjoyed writing, my first attempt at a gothic horror story earned me an A for the writing AND a meeting with my sixth-grade teacher to make sure "things were okay at home". Unfortunately, I stopped writing for fun in college when I had to focus on things like schoolwork and working for the school paper. (Can you believe I was a copy editor? Neither can I, looking back. Or an opinion columnist. Or a co-writer for a cartoon.)

3. Organization and Data Entry. I like typing things up, and formatting things, and making them look all neat and shiny. In an obsessive way. I do the same thing in my house - everything has a place, and a place for everything. I was brought up in a "put everything back where it belongs" household. My husband? Not so much. On the bright side, I've used the quirk to my advantage at almost every job I've ever had, and I as a mod on my RPs.

4. Arts and Crafts. I knit, crochet, paint, scrapbook, make ornaments, fug up lawn gnomes. Whatever comes to mind. I like working with my hands as [livejournal.com profile] the_evil_gnome proves. More importantly, I hate not doing something with my hands. I get antsy. If I'm not at the computer (and sometimes even when I am) I have to be doing something, and simply watching TV doesn't cut it. I often multitask; knitting during D&D, crocheting during English 101 (good times, loved annoying the hell out of that teacher and I finished my first blanket in that class) or painting while I'm waiting for someone to reply on-line.

5. Couldn't think of anything else since it's late and I'm tired.

And I won't tag anyone, but feel free to pick it up on your own if you're bored.
