As I am a firm believer in second chances - both my own and for other people - I decided that after a cooling off period, in which I sent my beta through chapter four of Jericho with a fine tooth comb and inserted enough commas to choke a horse (I feel there are really too many of the things, but [livejournal.com profile] rewil assures me that they're all the rage and in some cases not strictly necessary but still grammatically correct, which is what I was shooting for... so all hail the reign of the comma.) - I would once again give myself and SH: Ashwinder a chance to reconcile our issues and see if we might be able to come to an understanding.

It wasn't easy. My submission still had flaws - none involved the wretched comma though, so there was that - a random evil letter typo and a missing word, their "Thank you, please make these corrections and try again" form letter is a marked improvement over the rude one I'd received last time - not a single insult to my beta at all, another minor disagreement on word usage that I have backed up with a reference from Websters - we'll see if that's good enough or not... but on the whole, a much better near rejection than the last one.

In other words, while Ashwinder is no longer the archive for me, I no longer wish to sever all my ties with it.

Which reminds me, I do have a bright and shiny and new (to me) archive where I will be posting my older fics, and which - along with my writing journal - will be my first stop when I'm prepared to post new chapters and fic. Digital Quill is a private archive that hosts the work of some of my favorite authors, and I've recently been invited to join them. Right now, I'm currently reposting Parvus Obitus, and will be adding a few other fics in the future. Including Walls of Jericho.
