Still have this stoopid sinus cold/cough thing, and now my chest is starting to hurt a bit.

I'm not sure when I last ate. Dinner Friday, I think.

In other news, DH comes home in less than two weeks. He finished his classes (and managed to be number one in his class, woot) and graduates on Thursday. I wish I could be there, but we decided I should stay here and try to get the clothes packed.

DH has leads on three different 3 bedroom houses. That's right. Houses. Not apartments. All for under $500 a month rent.

So, the plan is that he graduates on Thursday. Leave starts on Friday so he will look at the houses on Friday, pick one and sign the lease (all of this depends on whether or not he manages to get our credit check thing done in time). Get the utilities turned on, etc. He may need to stay on base until Monday to get everything finished. With any luck he'll be on a bus to this area on Tuesday. Movers come on Wednesday. Thursday we unpack a bit. Friday we load back into the car and return to KS to spend the weekend with friends and family before driving back to OK on Monday.

That's the current plan.

Of course, reality is completely different, I'm sure.

There's nothing I can do other than smile and go with the flow at this point.

I hate not knowing what's going on. It makes me sick to my stomach to not have things planned out.

I hate that you're still sick. And please watch that - you don't want to end up with pneumonia.

Ah, me, too. I like my little list that I can check off when I've got something done. I sympathize.

Thanks for thinking of me.

I have to be careful in regards to bronchitis and the like. I ended up in the emergency room with smoke inhalation about a year and a half or so ago when the building next to where I worked caught fire and burnt down. Ever since then I've had lung problems - reactive airway disorder, tendency to develop bronchitis, etc.

I've just been hoping to avoid the need for a doctor until after the move since I have to go to an on base hospital and I don't like the base here. So, lots of bed rest, meds, and fluids for me.

Selfishly, I look at that and think "one master bedroom, one office, and one room for those of us what visit! Woot!"

But, yeah. I know from experience the quick-fast method of finding a place to live can work out just fine, but usually it involves the physical presence of the future occupant.

Have you made a list for Joel of things to look for when picking the place?

Those three are the ones that had everything on the list.

  • Two bedrooms and a basement/3rd bedroom (if possible)
  • Central Heat and Air
  • A Tub
  • Off street parking
  • Allows the cats
  • Has appliances (fridge, stove)
  • Under $500 a month

That's as picky as I thought I could be considering our time frame and the fact that I can't see the house myself.

And that's a way-reasonable list.

With a house, washer/dryer hookups become likely, which is a yayness.

Also, yardwork. (Bleh.)(But then all the gnomes'll have a place of their own.)(Ooh, and maybe you'll have a garage.)

Most of them appear to at least have Wash/Dryer hook ups. One has a garage.

One has a dishwasher. Might even be the one with a garage, I can't remember.
