Whip (Love Potions)- Agony and ecstasy: black leather and damp red rose. Wet rose. Seriously, it smells like lush, damp, fresh rose.

Inferno (Dark Elements)- The Dark Side of Fire: cinnamon, bitter almond, and neroli. Heavily spiced, torrid, and possibly conflagrant. It's RedHots with a hint of bitter almond, I'm in heaven! I'm not sure what conflagrant means, but I suspect it has something to do with short lived because Inferno burnt up and disappeared in under two hours, possibly less.

Dorian (Sin & Salvation)- Refined, elegant, and lovely, with a noble bearing and seemingly gentle air. This blend is an artful deception: a sweet gilded blossom lying over a twisted and corrupted core. A Victorian fougere with three pale musks and dark, sugared vanilla tea. Oh, the sugared vanilla is to die for. There's something underneath that twinges enough to almost bother me, but I can't pinpoint it. I forgot what order I put the smellies on and spent several minutes yesterday sniffing Dorian and trying to figure out what the hell it was, which means the sugared vanilla had faded enough I couldn't tell it was there.

Saint-Germain (Bewitching Brews)- Said to have lived for centuries, the Comte de Saint-Germain is truly a man of legend and mystery. He was an aristocrat, master alchemist, adventurer, magician, artist, and seer with a lust for exquisite jewels, and was reputed to have attained knowledge of the Elixer of Life. His knowledge was so vast and all-encompassing that his claim to have lived hundreds of years - he allegedly knew Jesus and was present at the Council of Nicea - was widely accepted as true. He is a Hermetic Magician's hero for the ages, and his scent is an elegant, timeless, truly refined cologne, bold yet classic: gilded amber, hypnotic lavender, brash carnation and deep mosses. Whoa, this is... it bites at me. Floral but not, sort of spicy. I don't think I like it at all, but I don't hate it.

Lightning (Bewitching Brews)- Lightning slashing the midnight skies over the endless reaches of the ocean. The electric tang of ozone, marine notes, and a drop of sharp rain. As I suspected, I don't like this one. I'm not fond of the water/marine based scents. It's not as sharp or annoying as some of the others I've smelled but it's not anything I enjoy. Almost reminds me of Ocean Breeze scented candles.

The real question - having tested these 21 scents on my skin and narrowed down what I like and don't... do I really want to order 5 larger bottles? My next proposed order (which I was thinking about holding off on until the next full moon and the Lunacy blend came out until [livejournal.com profile] rewil reminded me that the next one is Beaver Moon) comes out to probably close to $100. On perfume. So maybe not.
