My sister has the first six of the Lemony Snicket books. Having had no real interest in the books before, but needing something to do whilst my hair was being dyed its current shade of... whatever this is called (I'll tell you what it isn't. It isn't red, that's for damn sure. I said Red with Blonde highlights and I think she heard "Let's go blonde blonde blonde with some reddish bits."), so I asked to borrow the first book.

Count Olaf is a creepy fucker.

Are these books for kids? Cause eww. "Hi, I'm your new adoptive daddy and I'm gonna marry you." He talks about the wedding night with Violet. She's twelve or something. Eww. And I just about vomited at all the You-sure-are-pretty pedophilic moments with Olaf and Hook hands.

Even now, typing this, I think I just threw up a bit in my mouth.



Colonel Brandon is still insane. He did play in the snow (which came up to his sides) for a few minutes.

Staying with Jane't and her Spawn of Satan has taken to hiding from us. I think Fizzgig finally met an animal that intimidates her. Of course, I haven't seen the cat since I came back from lunch, so lord knows where she's at. I hope she's still in the house somewhere.

I have to finish (read: start) my 200 word drabble for hp_valentine since it's due tomorrow.

Did get to talk to cptn_oblivious today. He called me twice in a row so we actually got to talk for nearly twenty minutes. He wanted money and I felt bad that I had none to give him. We're switching over checking accounts and since he's In Country if he uses our current account the charge won't go through for months (seven or eight, really) and I need to be able to close the account at some point without worrying about what outstanding charges are still out there. And the first direct deposit for the new account hasn't gone through yet. Luckily he didn't need what he wanted to buy, he swears he can live without it. Or borrow the sixteen dollars from someone else until next week when his paycheck goes through. I feel bad, but I gave him the last of my Christmas cash - $50 - the day he left to hold him until the 15th and he's already run through that, apparently. I'm not sure what he keeps buying. I had to explain that I paid all the bills and I have nothing left. I'm living off a hundred dollars until pay day and that includes meals (which he gets for free), gas and birthday presents for Jane't and grandpoohbah.
