I figured out what I want to be for Halloween.
Last year I was a witch (Hogwarts graduate - House of Slytherin, thankyouverymuch) for the Hogwarts Themed Halloween party.
This year I was inspired by Sis' costume from last year, where she came to the party as Moaning Myrtle. I want to be a Hogwarts Student. Which is all fine and good, until a woman of my size tries to find a nice pleated school girl skirt that isn't vinyl, pleather, neon blue, or slightly shorter than a belt.
Yes, I have recently re-discovered that I am, in fact, a girl and that means I don't have to wear clothes cut for a man or a hippo ... but that doesn't mean I want to look like someone who stands on a street corner working for spare change. If I'm going to look tartish, I at least want to look like an expensive tart.
I may even work up the courage to go to a real Halloween party or two this year. (By that I mean a party I didn't help plan and didn't specifically go over the guest list to make sure I knew everyone before attending, cause I'm not really big on parties where I don't already know everyone. I'm shy like that.)
So. Anyone know of a place to find something like that? I've found a gray/blackish plaid skirt at Torrid On-Line, but it's not quite what I'm looking for. I'd prefer solid black or gray or a smaller plaid pattern. I'd sew, but I'd like to be able to actually wear the skirt.
Since I didn't get a chance to mention it the other night, I have a brand new car. Only 22 miles on it before I picked it up. AC, CD Player, doesn't fart when I drive it, pewter gray. Lovely car. Runs very well. Woot.
Also, picked up House of the Dead III for the X-Box the other day. It's been forever since I've had a chance to play a shooter game like the old Duck Hunt or Hogan's Alley arcade games. Doesn't seem to be a lot of plot, but I get to work off a lot of aggression, so that's okay.
