A thing and some stuff.

Firstly, chapter 5 of Fun and Games has been beta(d?) by rewil and shall be posted within the next few days (as soon as I stop being so lazy).

Secondly, chapter 19 of Hidden Emotions is almost complete and should be with Beta!Beck sometime this week. Only six months late. I kept putting it off because I didn't have anywhere for the story to go other than "Hey, I'm Snape and you're cute. Let's tango. Ignore my f-ed up childhood, we can be hot together." and that just wasn't enough to make an effort for.

But now ... now I have a PLOT! A really, honest to goodness plot that references things from the earlier chapters and pulls things together and ... and is a plot! I'm excited. Can you tell? All I've been writing for the last few monthes is porn and porn with a side of story to further the need for porn. It's time to get back to the story I started with. Yea!

And then there are those other couple of stories (you know, the porn) that I need to work on. The Detention Fic has to be done by the 18th. Oops.

Yes, yes we are. Also, we did not go shopping and I am severly bummed about that.

And, Stepford Wives is not showing in Manhappiness any more ... but it is showing in Marysvill for at least a week. Do I do the two hour round trip and go or do I wait until it hits video? Discuss.

Also, your thoughts on Anchorman?

Still can't advise you on Stepford Wives. It's at least a one-time funny. If you need a pick-me-up laugh then it's a good movie. But it's not good enough that I have the urge to see it again. Not like "Legally Blonde". Now there was a good, funny, smart movie. I'm not kidding. I enjoyed it. Same with Groundhog Day. I don't think I'll be hoping to buy the SW DVD when it comes out or anything like that.

Saw Anchorman on Sunday evening. Laughed a lot. Pretty crude humor. Christina Applegate is good-looking. Still. Even though she's _old_ now. I mean, when did "Married..." end? It's been a long time. But she's not old enough to be Ann-Margret good-looking.

Some of the humor was pretty stupid but also kind of funny. Lots of laughing at things that are funny because they are uncomfortable for the person they are happening to. Laughs for things that are funny because they spoof other things (capturing someone with a net a la "Planet of the Apes", blooper clip from "Smokey and the Bandit II"). Laughs because of the 70's era stuff.

If you go in to see it with the extremely low expectations that I had for it then you will be happy with it. If you are thinking "Man, this is going to be the best Will Ferrel movie ever!" then you might be a little disappointed. I don't know. I don't think I've ever seen another Will Ferrel movie (starring Will Ferrel) so this just might be the best. Definitely not the best comedy ever, though.

If you have lots of memories of the 70s or shows from the 70s then you'll get more of the humor.

If you do go see it, there are bloopers shown during the credits. When the bloopers run out the credits run for a couple more minutes. Then a very short clip runs at the end of the credits.

BTW, could Will Ferrel be involved in any _more_ projects? I counted ELEVEN films that range in their status from "completed" to "announced" on IMDB.
