I was woken up at seven thirty in the morning, out of a deep, NyQuil fueled sleep, by some fugly beetle. Captain assures me that the thing - which was in my HAIR when I found it - was not a cockroach. Whatever it was, it BIT ME.

That's what woke me up. I live in Brown Recluse land, of course some random pain/biteyness when I roll over in bed is going to wake me up. I was out of that bed and in the bathroom trying to see the bite in a matter of moments. Then I discovered the bug.

So, on one hand, yay for not being a spider bite (I'm pretty sure, anyway, I mean what's the chances of getting bit by a spider AND having a random beetle hanging about in your hair), but on the other BEETLE IN MY BED/HAIR.

Lovely way to start the day, yeah?

In other news, I think my cold is starting to suck less. Captain said I looked better last night and we went out to eat and I could actually taste my food again. Still congested, especially in the morning, but that's normal.

And the dog finally got a haircut. Without biting the groomer this time. Although they did say that the sedative did nothing to help their cause, so we'll have to ask the vet if there's anything stronger. Brandon was a bit loopy/lethargic yesterday for a few hours after he got home, so I know the pill eventually kicked in, just not enough to let the groomer take his muzzle off without risk of pissy dog biting. Unfortunately, there is something wrong with one of his legs/paws, and now that he's defurred it is much easier to see that he's sort of gimpy. He's going back to the vet on Wed for a recheck after his latest allergy shot visit (dog has worse allergies than me), so we'll have her take a look at his leg then.

Beck asked for a pic of the dog now that he's "fugly" so I'll try to get one of those up later.
