And it just keeps getting better

The Army told cptn_oblivious that he did not have leave for June.

He told them about all the things that are going on here and they said they would try to get him home at some point in June. But no idea when.

Yes. I'm upset.

And the AC sort of tried to die today. It was 90 degrees in the house, the cats were vomiting, the dog was overheating, I was sick. I called the realtor who said that they would not be sending anyone out until I replaced the filter on the AC. Which is all fine and good if I knew where it was or how to get to it. But that was a huge secret and too much trouble for them to tell me.

It was nearly six pm before I got the unit taken apart and the filter replaced. It took several more hours to get the house down to a non-vomit inducing temperature. But I think it's fixed.

I hope so. It's supposed to be 99 degrees tomorrow.

Things Really Are Getting Better This Time

He's coming home!

His Sgt. put out the word that cptn_oblivious wasn't getting June leave and had problems at home and one of the guys in his unit stepped up and gave him his spot. Who ever that man is I thank him with all my heart.

DH will be home on the third or fourth, he leaves the base on the first. He's coming home.

AND I Did fix the AC yesterday so it's a lovely sixty degrees in here right now. I'm wearing a sweatshirt.

I'm doing the happy dance in my chair. Which is a bit like the peepee dance but with less leg crossing.

ETA: DH IM'd me to let me know the name of the Specialist who is now on my Christmas list. I will be sending him a letter of thanks and any damn thing else he wants from the states. Cookies (store bought, of course, cause I don't want to poison the man that did us a huge favor), candy, magazines, whatever.

I'm chipper. Positively giddy. Which is sort of scary, actually.
