Sad lack of sushi, and braving the wilds of Volde-Mart for food

cleolinda's Snowpocalypse update got me thinking that perhaps I should check the local weather, and boy was I surprised mildly annoyed to discover there would be snow tomorrow. And ice.

Which means idiot people who don't know how to drive, all over the road.

Which meant my usual Monday trip to Volde-Mart for a week's worth of food might not be such a great idea.

Unfortunately, it was already After Church by the time I realized I should go stock up today, so I had to face a packed store full of "OMG, THE END IS NIGH" people AND "It's time for the weekly after church social gathering at Wal-Mart" people at the same time. People who think nothing of leaving their cart in the middle of the aisle so they can go to the end cap to stand and hug someone and talk for ten minutes, but then get pissy when you dare to scoot their cart over five inches so you can get your cart past...

I had been considering stopping at the Korean place that makes sushi on the way home, but it is very close to Wal-Mart and I was lucky to get my car into the turn lane toward home without killing someone, so no sushi for me.

Then, when I got home, I was faced with a very small freezer section on my refrigerator and a very large bag of frozen food. In my head, I could hear myself telling the Captain all those months ago, "We don't need a big refrigerator, we don't eat in very often. What do we need two extra cubic feet of freezer space for?"

The answer, my friends, is the snowpocalypse.

Snow? In Georgia? *blinks* Dang, that has to be a bit unusual, doesn't it? And I think you were very, very wise to plan not to be out on the roads with those that aren't used to driving in/on it. It's not pretty at all.

As far as the freezer space goes - yeah, I don't know if extra space would help or not. I've got a pretty big one, but it seems like we're always trying to find more room in it! ;)

At least you got your provisions. And if it's really REALLY cold, you can always use the outside for extra freezer space (if you can protect it from other interested parties).

We're supposed to get nasty stuff too. One of Pres Man's schools has already called off tomorrow.
