Had plans to visit friends this coming weekend. Was going to do a bit of early birthday celebrating. Plans canceled. Since I'd spent the last several weeks carefully budgeting to be able to afford two trips in two weeks, and now I'm not going... I decided to go with retail therapy to help me deal with my complete and utter disappointment. I bought Sims 2 games that my computer can't even run, but which made me happy in a
sigma7 has been making me giggle and maybe someday when I have a better computer I, too, can have giggly Sims fun way. I also bought some Godiva chocolate covered cherries.
Spent last weekend visiting friends (coincidentally, the same friends that would have been visited in a few days), which involved much, much driving and sleeping on beds that were not my beloved Pillow Top of Great Joy. You know how they say that you don't realize what you've got until its gone? That is totally me and my love of my bed - the mattress, my favorite comforter, all my pillows... heaven.
Especially when I come home with the beginnings of a cold. Which I did. Woke up Sunday morning with a scratchy throat and what I thought might have been a fever (turns out it was really just flannel sheets, which were soft, but very warm). Today, I've lost most of my voice. Which made it rather difficult to call Burger King's customer service number to bitch about the lack of promotional prize codes on my last three kids meal bags, but I did it anyway because that was the only friggin' reason I went to BK in the first place. I want my virtual Neopets prize, dammit! I ate the crappy chicken nugget meal, gimme my prize code, stop selling the bags on E-Bay, you wankers!
Did I mention I'm sick? I'm not sure I'm all there in the head today. Feeling a bit dizzy, a bit woozy, a bit confuzzled. To be honest, I'm not all that sure I'm getting enough oxygen between the nose being clogged, the lungs being a bit wet and juicy, and the throat being all sandpapery evil.
And now I've forgotten why I logged in in the first place.
So yesterday, I'm painting a lawn gnome, as I do, and I take my wedding ring off because I tend to get messy. A few hours later, I'm in the car with Sarah after stopping at BK to order my stupid kids meal sans bag and prize code (*Shakes fist at Burger King once more*) and I realize my finger is NAKED! Panic attack! Then I remember that I -probably- took it off in the office earlier. The next hour and a half at Wal-Mart is spent with me trying to push the phantom ring back up my finger because it felt like it wasn't sitting right... because it wasn't there.
Luckily, it was right where I thought I'd left it, and is now back where it belongs. Until I start painting again.
I need a nap. And some food. And a shower. I think there is a chance I might stink, but I can't tell because my nose is clogged. Better safe than sorry. Shower, then nap, then food.
