I came home late Tuesday night after being gone for a few days and noticed that Weeble was sleeping. I didn't think anything of it.

Then I went to bed and Weeble didn't follow. That bothered me. Weeble always climbs into bed with me. I sent DH out to make sure Weeble was okay. He said he was fine, just sleepy.

When we woke up Wednesday it was very clear that Weeble was not fine. Poor kitty had gotten ill all over the floor. I took him to the vet and the vet said that Weeble had a clog in his urethra. His bladder had swollen up and was in danger of bursting.

I was so upset, I mean, how could I have not noticed? This wasn't a sudden thing, this had been building up for days. But Weeble never complained, never cried or indicated that he was hurting at all.

We visited him at the vet this afternoon. He's doing much better. He's filthy but walking around and he missed us, I could tell. We might be able to bring him home Friday or Saturday, depending on when they remove the catheter. The vet says that he needs to make sure Weeble can pee on his own before he lets Weeble come home with us again.

I guess I just ... I just miss my cat.

Poor Kitty :(

Don't feel too bad. It probably hadn't been building up for several days. If he was fine on Monday, he'd probably just blocked up on Tuesday. The bladder can fill up pretty quickly and will get to be pretty painful if it can't be relieved. Plus you'd be surprised how common this can be with male cats and is usually diet related. Did they do a urinalysis to discover the cause? I hope Weeble feels better and can go home soon.
