Many months ago I signed up for a fic exchange, received my prompts and promptly - Ha, see that? Accidental almost funny right there, leave me alone, I'm tired. - got sick. Very, very sick.

Thankfully, the exchange mods are goddesses and granted me an extension. Which is up in two days. One did ask, when I first inquired about the extension, if I was sure I wanted to give it a try or would I rather back out and use that time to get better.

Me, being the stubborn mule that I am, I swore that I'd get the fic done. Secretly telling myself that it would be a magnificent piece of work, even if I had to kill myself to do it.

Sadly, it is not the most magnificent, shiniest thing I've ever written, but it is finished and the last chunk has been sent to my wonderful Beta as of today (tonight, about half an hour ago to be precise) and I am still alive. So all in all, I shall call it a win and remind myself that next time, if I've fallen ill with some mysterious ailment that is going to take months to diagnosis (still waiting for that, btw, keep your fingers crossed for the some answers after my mid-January bumscope procedure of doom, although someone in the family reminded me of our history of gallbladder issues so I'll be throwing that one out there at the next doctor's appointment to see if it sticks to anything), I should bow out gracefully.

Although if I'd only had the fic to worry about, I'm pretty sure it would have been done much sooner. But I've had scarves with deadlines, FRG meetings and gift wrap volunteerings and deployment issues - Yes, I said it, Captain is deploying again (This time it's official and they're almost pretty sure they won't be changing their mind again. Sort of. No, no, they're pretty positive. Except - No. This time they're sure.) - and sick pets like WHOA.

Anywho - since I didn't have time to do it before, I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday.

Toodles.
