Captain and I are going to the Castle of Muskogee Ren Fest this weekend. He said to think of it as stretching the wedding anniversary out for an extra week or so.
We can't really afford it right now (well, right now we can, but in a few weeks it's going to hurt like heck) but we both really just want to get away, even if it's only for one night, so we're splurging.
Yet again, we're leaving at the crack of early because Captain has arranged to meet some of his on-line gaming buddies before the place opens and it's a three or four hour drive from here. Also, there's a 40% chance of severe thunderstorms on the day we're supposed to go.
To go in garb, or not, that is the question.
It's a four day weekend so we don't have to do anything back home until we pick up the dog from the kennel on Tuesday, so we can take all the time we want coming back home, possibly even stopping back at the Ren Fest if we really liked it, or going to the Aquarium in Jenks if I can con Captain into it.
Speaking of the dog. He's broken the 70 pound mark thanks to his allergy medication, poor thing. We're hoping that since his prescriptions are being altered a bit, he'll lose some weight and stop wheezing - between the extra weight and a clogged nose from the allergies, he's been miserable the last few weeks.

grandpoohbah in the mail the other day. I can't believe she's already four, she's growing up so fast.
