Heard the news, which I was expecting. Sort of.
So I have until the 21st of July to wrap up my WIPs (which are already so out of date they all went AU before HBP) before the characters become so far from book canon they'll be unrecognizable. To me at least.
Or I could just call it quits and officially abandon them.
Bugger.
Is anyone else worried about that too, or is it just me?

But I think there will still be a place in fandom for out-of-canon-character characters. I mean, people do it all the time now, and some of those stories are so incredible that I read them and think "Yes! Why didn't JK do THAT?"
Bottom line; if it bothers you to be too AU, get cracking. If you can live with it, keep on keepin' on. I'm sure there will be an audience. Maybe a diminished audience as time goes on, but still an audience. Like me!
