The good news? I updated
the_evil_gnome with a few pics of the work in progress knitted hat and a bunch of junk I scavenged/bought to make Christmas ornaments out of.
The bad new? The winds last night and today reached up to fifty miles an hour and I woke up to find my fairly new and formerly shiny George Foreman Outdoor Grill scattered across the back yard. In pieces. Along with the wind chime we had received as a wedding present.
Then I noticed the dog was still listless, very pissy and his little ears were totally warm. I say little but that's just polite for "Smaller than a bus" in his case.
So I took him to the vet where I ended up sitting in the lobby (and standing around outside when the lobby started to get a bit crowded with the pissy little doggies that want to assert their authority on all four legged creatures by straining at the ends of their leashes and yipping at you all "I see you cringing, that means you fear me. FEAR ME and my Yippiness!") for an hour after my appointment should have started because lots of animals were sick lately.
He's got tonsillitis again. Actually the vet said tonsillitis but I'm beginning to suspect that really means some sort of infection-like cootie. So he's back on the big green pills to go with the littler orange pills he takes for his allergies. Four pills a day. Did I mention he hates the green pills?
Did I also mention I ended up coating tonight's pill in spaghetti sauce to get him to eat it?
Anywho, he's sick. And contagious.
And I'm dog-sitting A and S's dog starting tomorrow night.
Who, coincidentally enough, has been coming over once a week to get to know Colonel Brandon and who also just happens to have an infection. That she got from eating staples and paint early last week. That's right, their dog gave mine cooties. Which means starting tomorrow night I'll have two sick dogs that can't be together and who both need to take pills they don't like.
Did I mention
cptn_oblivious is in the field until Monday?
Someone is gonna owe me dinner at Kobe if I survive this.
One final thing - Colonel Brandon tipped the scales at 65.1 pounds today. A foot and a half tall, mind you. And currently snoring next to my feet.
