I've been "wrapping presents" for days. In the sense that wrapping presents equals playing with scotch tape and watching DVDs of CSI on the computer.

So I got up this morning and knew I had to finish the gift wrapping since I'm leaving in a few days to visit my parents.

But first, I told myself, I needed to do a few quick things. Like take an hour an a half bath while I read a romance novel. Then I swept, moped and vacuumed every floor in the house. Took a lint roller to both bathroom rugs, my bed skirt, my extra pillows, the cat's bed, etc... Did the laundry. Organized all the junk tchochkes from one pile O' stuff into the two china/curio cabinets. Finally put all the picture frames out on display. Cleaned the bathrooms. Washed my dish (singular, yes). Watched some more CSI.

So here it is, eight hours later and I still haven't wrapped a single gift. But my house looks good.

Also, there appears to be some sort of small, grey-brown, tailed vermin running around in my back yard. I've found a burrow and I've spotted the little thing scampering across the path to the dog's run twice now. The question is do I attempt to kill it or let it do its freaky field mouse thing until it manages to get into the house where two (okay, technically one because Loki is as good a mouser as he is clarinet player) vicious mouse catching kitties are eagerly waiting for it. I suspect it's been hiding in my chimney thing because both cats sit and stare at the fireplace sometimes. Or that could be birds on the roof making tasty tasty meat snack noises through the chimney, I don't know.
