I have a plan. Which, I'm sure, will have to be modified several times before it comes to fruition. But the point is - I have a plan. And that makes me less cranky.

If [livejournal.com profile] cptn_oblivious gets his leave (and he's hopeful that the wedding and the OMG MY HOUSE WAS BROKEN INTO, YOU ROTTEN BASTAGES, AND MY WIFE NEEEEDDDSSS ME! might help bump him up on the list to ensure he's got a better chance of getting the leave) he'll be coming home to a mostly empty house. This is where my plan kicks in. Tomorrow I speak with some moving company whose name I've already forgotten because I frankly just don't give a rat's arse who they are as long as they do what I'm paying them to do, and they will be giving me an estimate on packing up our stuff and putting it in storage for two weeks. This packing shall take place at the end of May.

Hubby comes home *in theory* on the first. At which time we check into a hotel for the night because nothing says anti-romance like an inflatable bed in the middle of an empty room and some take-out from Taco Bueno (which I love, but not high on the romance scale, beans and all). Then we finish moving utilities, cleaning, whatever for a few days and pack the last of what is left for our trip to KS for Midget's wedding, stopping to put the babies in the kennel for a week.

The computer will be coming with us. Yes, I know I won't be able to actually use it. I don't give a shit. I'm not leaving it in this... pit. Also, the new tv.

We come home on the day after the wedding and by the next day we move in to the duplex. If all goes well, I should have my husband cuddled up next to me under our brand new bedding (the old stuff has been regulated to the spare bed as I refuse to sleep with it and have been sleeping on a bare mattress with a spare blanket) in our brand new home by the night of the 13th. Our last night together.

This is the plan. Of course, as every gamer knows, the first step towards horrific failure is always to make a plan.

And since I haven't done it since the 16th of April (so it's going to be a long one) - Afterglow Highlights.

More specifically , the bits that pertain to my characters and the great things that really jumped out at me, and if I miss something... well, it's been a rough week and I've got pudding for a brain at the moment. Mmmm... chocolate pudding.

April 18th was a busy day. Theo Nott celebrated his birthday with an old friend at the very same club where Percy's party was in full swing. As you can imagine, the stripper was the highlight of the evening.

April 20th saw Gilderoy finally getting a bit of revenge on Nott (I'm sure you remember the strip search incident at the Malfoy wedding, and the bordello accusations). And the girls (including Myrtle) gathered for Susan's bachelorette party, complete with roller skates and genital shaped cakes.

April 21st, the second of the Hogwarts Sex Ed classes taught by Charlie Weasley. There were some interesting guest speakers for this week's class. Professors Wood, Granger and Spinnet showed up to support Charlie. And even the ghostly Myrtle dropped in to ask a question or two.

Yet another April wedding on the 23rd. Percy and Susan shared their vows before the dancing could begin at the wedding breakfast. Unfortunately one guest spent longer than was prudent wishing the new couple well and very nearly caused a tragedy.

April 24th was the day of freedom for Minerva McGonnagall (Snape?) and Greg Goyle as they escaped from the South American home they'd been imprisoned in.

The 28th finally found Myrtle visiting her friend Fleur for the first time since Snape's departure. As things with Myrtle often do, things turned to the melancholy. At least until Myrtle stopped by to give Harry an afternoon wake-up call, one that ended on a surprising note.

April 30th - things heated up between Alicia and Theo. To the point that Roger and Lee felt the need to cool them down. Alicia also found the time to give some late night advice to Myrtle.

May 1st. Beltane. How it began. On the grounds. The Main floor. Down to the dungeons. And up to the Upper floors.

Which brought repercussions for many on the morning of the 2nd. Including the newly married Percy and Susan. It also sparked a renewed attraction for Bill and Tonks. Still others (Gilderoy and Millicent) handled it like true Slytherins. And who could forget the Great Dragon Egg Heist? And Bill's revenge on Harry and Myrtle.

May 3rd brought the first of the menacing sent to Gilderoy. This one drove him to the Leaky where he ran into Theodore Nott, his newest drinking buddy. And found Myrtle sharing a tub with Gregory Goyle.

May 4th - Charlie's luck finally wears out and he's caught by an angry vipertooth.

May 7th - Dung. Fleur. Spanking. That's all I'm saying.

May 8th has Fleur receiving ominous warnings from her sister, Gabrielle, in regards to Myrtle's wish to be human again. And Myrtle saying goodbye to Seamus in a letter.

The next day, Myrtle sought out Harry for comfort. And Gilderoy ran into Minerva for the first time since Beltane.

May 11th - Rudolphus finally confronts Percy with the news. "Percy, shhhhhisss, I am your father, shhhhusssclickhiss."

May 14th was the day the shit hit the fan in the Percy/Susan household. It was also the day Myrtle discovered there was hope after all.

And finally on May 16th, Gilderoy finally breaks down and asks for Theo's Help with the anonymous letters.

April and May found the departure of Severus Snape, Oliver Wood and Ginny Weasley, and the introduction of Ron Weasley, Roger Davies, Neville Longbottom, "Dee Dee" and Dolores Umbridge. Sorry I don't have the links for Ron or Roger's triumphant returns.

As always, you can leave comments or questions for Rita Skeeter on each new edition of [livejournal.com profile] quibbling.

And if you're interested in what Severus Snape has been doing since he left Hogwarts, you can find read his personal journal at [livejournal.com profile] dark_occlumens.
