A day early, it seems, but I'm home never the less.
DH's 1300 to 2200 leave was canceled for today (although they did say he could have an on base pass for 3 1/2 hours starting around 1700, but it was too late for us, by that point).
So... I didn't get to see him today. But I spent nine hours with him yesterday and several hours the day before.
All of which I will write about tomorrow or Sunday, for tonight I am very, very tired. It was a very long drive.
I never thought I'd miss him this bad. It wasn't like this before. It's worse, now that I saw him. He called tonight and it's the same for him.
He says he has another graduation in two months from his AIT (which means lord knows what) and maybe he'll get to come home for a few days if he has leave. We don't know.
That seems to be a theme with the Army. Not telling people things. We didn't know until eleven this morning that DH's new CO was pulling his off base pass (the one that was supposed to start at 1), lots of other things... it's very frustrating to stand around in 100 degree weather waiting to hear if you are going to get to see your husband for twenty minutes or not.
Between nerves and the heat and the horrible sunburn I have and more nerves, I was sick most of the trip. Sick or asleep.
But I was able to take a short nap with my husband for the first time in two and a half months, and that means more to me than I ever thought possible.
