Easily distracted by shiny things, I am.

Oops, overslept. Didn't wake up until three this afternoon.

Took yesterday off, so to speak. Instead of reviewing at the exchange - since I spent the four days before rushing to catch up on all the things I'd missed trying to get Captain ready to leave - I was going to sit down and work on either Walls of Jericho or perhaps something more fun like one of the plot bunnies that had bitten me over the last year or two and that I had made it past the initial "could be fun, but I don't have time" phase to actually end up with some words, even if they were just a chunk of dialogue, on a screen somewhere.

However, what really happened is I sat, staring at the profile page of my fic journal and all my spifftastic quiz banners and stuff and realized as lovely as they are, it really was a very busy, graphic intensive page. Also, I vaguelly remembered being nominated for some fic awards once upon a time and I knew I'd been rec'd somewhere other than just the Know-It-Alls and none of that info was on the page... and it would be nice if it were, wouldn't it?

So I totally cheated and hopped around some other author's profile pages to get a look at what they included and then I spent HOURS looking stuff up and finding dates and links and dusting stuff off and now there are shiny new bits in place but I'm still not happy with it.

I think I need some sort of section-breaky-up graphic, something small but unique. Also, I would someday love love love to have a banner and possibly a thumbnail for some of the fics I've written that I like the best. Sort of a "Look at my SHINY PRETTY THING, READ IT!"

I don't know. I haven't touched Photoshop for anything other than resizing pics in literally two years. I don't even know how to use this version of Photoshop because it's so different from the version I'd been using before Gilderoy (long live, Gilderoy) died on me.

Also - yesterday I had a small non-exchange to do list, and while I did manage to do everything that was needed in RL (I hate bills, for reals), I did not manage to do the computer related ones. So those are at the top of today's list, before exchange reviewing (can't get days behind AGAIN) and then beginning the annoying task of trying to figure out what sort of graphic I want for the fic page.

And finally - lookit what I earned.
