Not much time. Have stolen borrowed the Captain's POS laptop while he was distracted as mine went SystemErrorDeathWarning on Wednesday night. Just an hour and a half after I finished the last two scenes of my exchange fic. All I needed was to get access to an unsecured wireless signal to upload for my beta and all would be good... but before I could do that - laptop death.

Catsitter Sarah will be at the Christmas party tomorrow and will be bringing my XP boot disc in the hopes that the config/system issue can be repaired. If not, the last ditch effort will be taking the laptop to Begs and having him attempt data recovery to get my file back, then transfer it to the POS laptop of Captain's so that I can get it home where I can then get to the internet and get it to the beta. This wouldn't be so annoying (yes, yes it would) if I didn't have the damn thing finished on time. Stupid technology, it's trying to piss me off, I'm sure of it.

Also... do you have any idea how weird it is to suddenly have no internet AND no computer games to waste time with? I've had to talk to people. Also, sleep a lot. Of course, the husband has a working computer so he's not in the same boat I'm in. Damn him.

And I need to go, we're meeting Captain family for dinner in fifty minutes and we've checked into a hotel for the free internet - which is a last minute change of plans brought on by the need for free internets, damn it.
