5:30 AM and I am annoyingly awake

I love my dog... Snerk... Adore him? Like him?

I very much do not hate my dog. Most of the time.

HOWEVER, this habit of going nuts when the soldiers across the highway are marching along - past our yard, behind the six foot fence, across the busy full of going-to-work vehicles four-lane highway, behind Another six foot fence - at O'Ass Crack of Not Even Dawn Thirty has got to stop.

Ok, sometimes Colonel Brandon gets woken up by Captain leaving for PT, or even by the soldiers across the highway doing their chanty/marchy singing/whatever the hell it is because it's far too early in the morning for me to care enough to look it up thing, and realizes that he really does have to pee and/or poop.

But most of the time he's simply attempting to assert his dominance over the house, yard, and, apparently, part of the friggin' base by howling and baying at five something in the bloody morning! I have neighbors! With a small child! There are noise ordinance law type things! More importantly, I want to sleep!

Mental note - no matter how good M&Ms for breakfast sounds, it's a stupid idea. Especially for the third morning in a row.
