It's taken weeks of searching - in the sense that I made Captain call around to any place that had ceramic in the name from the phone book - but I found a place that claimed to sell unpainted bisque LARGE gnomes.

However, they were never open when I was awake and Captain was off work. Until today.

So we go there and the lady says she doesn't recognize us and gives us the "what can be found in what room" speech. And then I say we're looking for lawn gnomes.

"Oh, you're the one's who have been calling. Right. Gnomes." Like I'm a bit of a freak. Not a huge freak, mind, because this woman paints small woodland creatures and flower pots and ceramic pumpkins and santas for a living after all. But a bit of a freak. Perhaps because we keep calling to make sure they can, in fact, provide me with my damn gnome.

They have the technology molds for some of the gnomes in the series - Alberta, but they don't make the molds any more so that's going to hurt - but not the female, which is one that I'm looking for.

Now, I know you're asking yourself "WTF does Miah want with a 16 inch tall ceramic gnome and more importantly do I really want to know?" and the answer is simply that I paint them, and sometimes give them away as gifts to poor, unsuspecting people. But I'm not content to just paint a pretty little gnome with blushing cheeks and flowers and smiles... oh no, not me.

Let me show you the last gnome I managed to paint up and give away.

Anyway, the point is that I have a yard now and I think it needs some hand-painted, twisted, disturbed gnomes. I thought I had a boy and girl gnome buried in a box, but I only had two males (one of which is built just like the one in the picture and I believe I'll be painting him up in a similar fashion as a house warming gift for some friends pity them). Today I special ordered another male since they did not have "Susie", and they're going to pour him and I should be able to pick him up in a week or so. I do not make these names up, that's what the girl gnome is called.

There are, however, some smaller gnomes in stock. So now I am considering expanding my artistic *snerk* repertoire to include five to seven inch tall gnomes instead of the impossible to locate mega-gnomes. Do you think that'a big enough?
