I'm supposed to be in bed. Promised DH I would be sleeping like a good girl and here I am on the computer at one a.m.

Had to call in sick today. Didn't get out of bed until three this afternoon. Caught myself saying "Oh, it's been a long day" around six, then realized I'd only been awake for three hours.

Good news - seems that all that sleep was just what I needed. Hives have completely disappeared. Called the doctor yesterday and was informed that I may not have had Strep because Mono can produce a false positive (remind me never to say "What do you mean it was a false positive" in an angry voice when I'm on the phone at work because people tend you look at you funny). Of course, we don't know if I had Strep or not because no one thought to run the two day growth thingy test to find out. I believe the attitude was, "Don't worry about it. The medication we put you on should have taken care of anything you may or may not have had."

Why am I the only one who thinks that just prescribing things for people without knowing what the patient actually has might be a bad thing?

Babysat the munchkin tonight. She came to the house. Spent most of the night crawling after the cats (who were all "Whoa, what's that thing on the floor? Why is it coming after us? Should we sniff it?" Which is a completely different reaction than what she gets from Jane't's cat which is "Hsss, grr, bite bite.") and then jerking back when the cats got close enough to pet. She fell asleep sprawled across DH on the sofa and I had to take a picture before I took pity on him and moved her.

Tired. Going to bed now.

I have a question for those of you who have read Parvus Obitus. I sent what was supposed to be the first part of the last chapter to Beta!Beck earlier in the week.

She read it, edited it, and sent it back. I talked to her tonight and she was surprised that I had not posted it as of yet. I explained that I had not worked out the lemons for the last part of the chapter.

As a matter of fact, I'm not sure how to end the story after the smut. [livejournal.com profile] rewil seemed to think the story would be okay ending where it is (halfway through the planned chapter six), if I can't work out something better.

So, I'm going to post the first half of the chapter here and ask you what you think.

I've got another page an a half of mostly dialog written, leading up to the lemons, but I think I can work the important parts into the above and still end the story where it's at.

So, how important is smut? Will the story be complete without it?
